[Release] Novus, a free theme series

RE: [Release] Novus, a free theme series
Here is an idea for this theme. Instead of making them all sepreate why not do like the mystic theme set over at smf.

Make a .css for each of them, and then one main. After that make a <div> with the choices.

Like they click blue that calls upon css blue Smile.

I did consider that, however there are a few drawbacks.

1. The theme switcher would have to include cookies to remember which theme the user had on their last visit. Since don't know Javascript that well (or even jQuery), making one would be very hard for me. Also, I would only be able to use MyBB's CSS editor for one theme as making another css file globally is extremely hard. I would have to link up multiple CSS files that would only be editable by a text editor.

2. What if the forum called for only one color and based their site off of that color? Everything would be off if you had users with many different styles.

3. On many forums with Afresh themes, I've only seen one color instaled. Since many people use only one color, making a theme switcher that included all colors would be pointless.

It's a jQuery GUI. ;P

Thanks. That seems like it'll help me a lot when trying to figure out jQuery. I usually have to go on the jQuery Documentation site.

Also, I found a fix for the toplinks. All you need to do to fix it is edit the width to be set to "auto". This will make the width 'liquid' in a way because it expands on contracts depending on how many links you have.

I actually lol'd.

IE isn't slow, it just fails at rendering. As for nobody using it, that's pure bull. It's the most popular browser right now.

I use -moz, -webkit, -o, -khtml CSS tags to make shadows and rounded corners in my themes, but I try to make sure they don't look like crap in IE without them.
It's only the most popular browser because it is already on your pc/laptop when you buy it and people are too lazy to download firefox or other browsers.

Very nice, but I'd change the body to #E9E9E9 to fit with the shadow.

It's because I updated the themes with a new zip file to change the toplinks width. It should work soon.

It's up to the MyBB team. You know what, I'll just put all the themes in one file so that when the themes are being updated on the mods site, you can still have access to them. You'll be able to download it in a few minutes.
