What is the difference between mybb bbcode for 1.2.14 and the latest mybb bbcode?

I found a nice mybb code for 1.4 and it doesn't work for my 1.2.14 version.

I know most people would say to just upgrade. The problem is that I have a template the will not convert over properly and several custom plugins that too.

Any help would be appreciated.
