Installing HotEditor
Hello Smile

Well, I would like to give a short guide on how to install HotEditor in MyBB.

HotEditor is an amazing WYSIWYG editor. Cool I like it so much, that I want to share this information so the author see that there are many people using his product, and hopefully he can release updates with more nice features Smile Also, I would like to encourage the MyBB staff to release a WYSIWYG editor as a core feature of MyBB.

You should read carefully the instructions that comes in the distribution package. However, in short, this is what should be done. (Again, consider reading the official instructions for details on each step):

  1. Upload the mod files
  2. Update the required MyBB core files
  3. Update the required templates

That's all Big Grin

For steps 2 and 3, you can save A LOT of work if you use the attached files at the end of this post by just replacing your files (or replacing the whole content in the case of the templates) instead of editing them manually Toungue BUT! do this only in the files/templates that you haven't customized or will lose your changes =)

I will edit this post as necessary. Don't forget to leave your comments Toungue

Greets Big Grin

Don't worry about the old version of MyBB in this test board. Right now I have it installed in MyBB 1.2.13 and works great.

I don't see any "windows logo" Confused It's a browser-based application.

I have had hot editor installed for a long time, but after I upgraded the forums a little while back, it became buggy. Your fix made it work properly again.
Take a look.
Thanks again

RE: Installing HotEditor
I didn't know that you had to pay for it, if that's the case, then nevermind. Otherwise this is a good tutorial.
