CANNOT LOGIN? READ THIS!
So every day we have people reporting that logins don't work on their forum. Let's fix this once and for all!

99% of the time this is a problem with your cookie settings being incorrect or inadequate. (For more information about MyBB's cookies, read [Wiki: Cookies])

The solution
Your cookie settings can be found in: Admin CP --> Board Settings --> Change --> General Configuration. The two settings are Cookie Domain, and Cookie Path.

By default, MyBB suggests Cookie Domain to be blank, and Cookie Path to be "/". Although this theoretically will work, in many cases it is inadequate.

First a few examples of what your cookie settings should look like:
If your URL is http://www.example.com, your settings should be:
  • Cookie Domain: .example.com
  • Cookie Path: /
If your URL is http://www.example.com/myforum, your settings should be:
  • Cookie Domain: .example.com
  • Cookie Path: /myforum/
If your URL is http://subdomain.example.com/wow, your settings should be:
  • Cookie Domain: .subdomain.example.com OR .example.com
  • Cookie Path: /wow/
Alternatively you can use this tool to figure out your cookie settings: http://www.dennistt.net/mybb/cookiesettings.php

Extra Notes:
  • These cookie settings should work on all MyBB installations. If you have site-integration, your cookie settings may need to be more generalized.
  • If you are using a URL cloak or frames, you need to find your cookie settings for your "real" URL, not the cloaked one.
  • After you change your cookie settings, please advise your users to logout and clear their cookies from their browser, so that the new cookies can take effect.
  • If you cannot login to the front end of the forum, you can still login directly to the Admin CP. Just add /admin/ to the end of your forum's URL (or your admin directory if it's different), and you should see the login for your Admin CP. The reason why this is possible is because the Admin CP login does not use the cookie settings for the login.

If you are still having problems, please reply here with the URL of your forum.

RE: CANNOT LOGIN? READ THIS!
This makes a lot of sense, but my question is... How am I supposed to change the cookie paths if I can't log in? Because I'm having this problem on my newly installed forum.

Login onto your admin panel (/admin). That's still possible.

It shows up for me, it just seems that your server is really slow though.

RE: CANNOT LOGIN? READ THIS!
This can be also be a problem in your browser or with the encoding (character set), I've encountered this problem before...
But I can see the forum with no problem when I type url manually.
The problem is with the link in the homepage of your site

RE: CANNOT LOGIN? READ THIS!
I have tried all the tips but still have the same problem. The message
Quote:Your user ID could not be verified to log you out. This may have been because a malicious Javascript was attempting to log you out automatically. If you intended to logout, please click the Logout button at the top menu.

keeps showing up.
Could anyone please check it for me ? Here is the url.
