RE: Swedish translation.
Hi,

Thanks for the dedication.

I translated mybb 1.28 to swedish one year ago. I installed 1.402 today and tested my old translation. I checked the basic functionality and it works fine. I am glad, because I have no time to re-translate it. However, in order to use 1.28 translation on 1.4 I needed to do some fixes to the old language pack.

Whoever decides to reuse the 1.28 translation for 1.402 (continuing translating it or not), follow these instructions:

1) Install mybb 1.42 (1.44 works too)

2) Get this file. This is a language-copy from my instalation, just install it as you would with any other language-pack.

3) You may want the swedish image buttons (The directory "swedish" should be placed in [yourMybbDir]/images).

NOTE: Installing the ported version will translate MOST of the system, but some new pars will show the new english text-strings instead.

By the way, here are the changes, 1.29 compared with 1.402 (this can be for good use if you are deciding to reuse the 1.28-9 translation.)

http://snowfrost.net/complang/

Why making a port from 1.28 to 1.4x?

First: The port is to use in the wait for a full translation.

Also: If you use 1.28 translation for 1.402, it will not show the new variables in Admin CP->Language -> Options -> Edit Language Variables, so you can't translate them... This is because the new variables, of course, does not exist in the old translation. By using the ported files, you will be able to translate them, or at least use the english texts if you do not want to translate (instead of having empty strings showing up in your mybb instalation)

Warning: Some text-strings have been changed, I can see that from the comparison (linked to above). This port I have made, ignores these changes, and uses the swedish translated text-strings based on 1.28's english text-strings.

You may chose to translate from scratch or continue translate the ported version.

FYI: The old swedish thread: http://community.mybboard.net/thread-4895-page-1.html

RE: Swedish translation.
Nothing much happening here, right? Could you just tell us if you bailed out from the translation or not?

RE: Swedish translation.
As for me, I am not into translating.

If anyone chose to do a translation based on my old version, consider using my word list.

When I did the 1.28 translation, I took note of how I translated particular words. This was made to enforce consistency; to not mistakenly use different swedish synonyms for one particular english word.

Here is the list, if you change one word-translation, also change all other occurrences across the whole language-pack.

RE: Swedish translation.
You are not into translation? I was under the impression that you translated the 1.2x language files? And your forum title is "Swedish translator"?

Oh well, i´ll do it myself then.

Yes, I did translate the 1.2x files.

Sorry if I was unclear: I am not into doing a translation for 1.4x (I have bailed out from the translating). My only contribution to 1.4x is what I have posted above (the ported files). Feel free to reuse my contribution, or translate from scratch if you prefer.

My forum title was added a year ago after my release of the 1.2 translation. If my activity right now is not enought, the authority can remove the "swedish translator" from my title.

Good luck!

RE: Swedish translation.
I've been using the 1.28 version and it's not working in some places of the forum. So I hope someone can translate it for the new version.
