That's good ideas and so cute small icons it's fits very well for forums that make "custom forums icons". This small icons will works instead for them. This surely hit two birds in 1 stone. You've got the point for this plugin.

Updated to 0.3

- added option 'Classic Bulbs' (default YES) that keeps the old icons, but fixes the 'parent forum marked as unread even though there is nothing new' bug of MyBB. If you want the new Icons you have to set this to NO (yes I know, counter-intuitive, I'm sorry)

- added option 'Sort Mini Subforums' (default NO). This changes the order of the mini subforums displayed with the mini icons. By default the order is static (it will always say "Subforum 1, Subforum 2, and 48 more". The sorted version puts the most important (newest unread) subforums first, so if you have read Subforum 1-49 but Subforum 50 is unread, it will go "Subforum 50, Subforum 1, and 48 more". In other words it won't no longer hide unread subforums in the "and X more" part unless you have too many unread subforums altogether, in which case it will only show you the newest unreads.

Looks pretty nice. I don't have plans to use this though, as the current bulb(s) work fine for me. I'll test it on my localhost just for the sake of trying it though.

Update to 0.5

- I used a variable where it wasn't reset in a loop, which caused sibling forums to get wrong status sometimes. (Using variables this way in a loop is an utter mess, doesn't PHP have something like a local scope?)
- In classic mode, a bulb with 'on' status could show alt 'no new posts' on mouseover. Not sure if this was intentional (because the new posts were not in the forum itself but in a subforum), but it confuses the hell out of people. It's the same icon so it's better to show the same alt.
- Incorporate minor change by MyBB 1.4.4

Update to 0.6

- a bug was introduced in version 0.3 that could mess up the forumbit depth3 template, resulting in bad links to subforums. This bug was discovered in this thread http://community.mybboard.net/thread-42477.html (please report it here next time folks, I only found it by pure chance)
