cool well with the download if i redownload the hole forum for a new site do i still need to patch it?

No, the archive on the MyBB site was patched so all new downloads will contain the patched code.

Are you saying that if I upgrade my current myBB 1.2.9 to v1.2.10 it will include this most recent patch?

Thanks for the email about the new fix! I hurried over to patch it up straight away

With regards to backup: for whatever reason cron jobs don't seem to work on me (when I tried setting it up myself about 2 years ago) but it just so happens that my Wordpress installation uses the same database as MyBBoard, and there are several automated/cron-esque plugins for Wordpress that automatically generate a backup file every few hours/day etc depending on the setting.

that mean you aren't on the mybb mail list
