he means that it should be upgraded, so when you hit search, a little drop down box comes out and you type in what you want to search.
You can modify the template on your own to do that.

I definitely think that this would be a excellent feature, and I also put it into the Ideas page as well. I found that mod that makes it look like that, but it looks really confusing to install.

go to this site and click on search option.then you will see a search box came and you can search...no need to go search page.....you can also go any Vbulletin board...there is also search option like ipb.
But where's this mod for MyBB, like you were talking about?
It's basical xhtml code. You can grab it from them and insert into your template if you wish. It's not complicated. You are asking mybb to add a feature you can add yourself in minutes.
