Any chance I can get the original GDK for the smilies so I can make a set for dark background themes? Sorry if you feel this belongs in template/theme help but imho I can only get my request filled by actual staff. Move this thread if you think I misplaced it. btw..if I make a dark background set I will of course release it.

This thread shows the need to be able to specify smilies for each theme. Most smilies are designed for either a light or dark background and don't look right on the other.
Yes exactly laie_techie...all images should be within the "theme" directory even if it means double up on a lot of images. This would give theme authors full control and even offer better options for multiple themes. As it is now..I can't have a properly running site with both a light and dark background as each will hav their own set of problems displaying images without or the other having mat problems (pixelation).
From what I understand they are working toward this goal but I do not know if by 1.4 it will be achieved.
