I am not personally going to get it because I am happy with Windows XP for the moment.  If I need to change OS then I will proberly get Ubuntu. Wink

Kubuntu, use it.
If you are planning to use ONLY linux install ubuntu or kubuntu. If you install both k/ubuntu it won't load the windows. (Personally checked, installed the edgy version a week ago)

I have only used Windows 98, Windows XP and Fedora Core 1 (with WINE) at home so I cannot really recommend one to you.

BTW, I got my reinvigorate Private Beta invite today (Big Grin). I have a few suggestions for them too, and I will email them sometime this week (AJAXify some features).
I use Windows XP Pro, Fedora Core 6, and openSuSE 10.2 on a regular basis. I'm trying to get rid of Free BSD off a couple of my company's servers, though.

I'l get Vista in a few months, once all the bugs are fixed, and I'l get Windows Vista Ultimate for $199 full edition, not upgrade. Big Grin

P.S. My forum was nominated for "Forum of the Month" at AdminFusion.com ! Big Grin

yeah, a ton of em. I'm posting from a fedora core 6 machine, which at a moments notice could be rebooted to give you getoo or solaris, and my cork board has a growing collection of discs, ranging from the very easy (linspire (i don't recommend Toungue)) to the overly complicated (gentoo). From the very light (DSL) to the very heavy (fedora). Then theres the just plain stupid (vista beta).

As for the "upgrade" to vista. Im not going to bother. I don't believe i should have to pay into a monopoly to use my computers. All the new features that were going to make it worth buying have been taken out, leaving you with all the poorly implemented copied features from OSX and Linux (including the "3D" interface (Similar special effects are achieved in OSX and Linux with less system resources btw)). Vista will require more system resources to just run than XP. Personally id prefer this power went towards my folding at home client, or to help me frag n00bs, not just to keep my computer on. Then the final kick in the teeth ...
